Graduating senior Bonnie Marrero Soto is so proud to be the first person in her family to attend college. She is very excited for this opportunity to continue her educational pursuits towards future career aspirations.

Bonnie is looking forward to attending Northampton Community College in the fall.  This college’s excellent academic reputation as well as offering on campus housing for students are very appealing.

In the three years that Bonnie has been an Achievement House Cyber Charter School student she has learned vital skills that she will utilize in the future.

“AHCCS has done a really good job at preparing me for the future.  I have learned many the skills that I will need in college, and AHCCS always had the right classes to prepare me for what is coming next.”

When Bonnie enrolled at AHCCS, she worked closely with school staff and teachers in order to prepare her for challenges and obstacles that would be encountered in the future.

“As a AHCCS student, I always reach out to my teachers and the staff.  In the beginning, both realized that I was a blank slate who required much direction and guidance. Admittedly, I have no idea what I was supposed to be preparing for however AHCCS staff and my teachers are always there to help me out. They would teach me how to socialize and how to organize, which is very important for the future.”

During classes Bonnie enjoyed projects that pushed her out of her comfort zone such as having to turn on her microphone to present and interact with other students. She admits that she needed help in these areas and that completing these projects has prepared greatly for college. Her favorite part of High School would be the connections that she has made with other AHCCS students and staff members. She initially struggled to stay motivated but having the support of staff and teachers pushed her to work harder to make her AHCCS high school experience more rewarding.

“The AHCCS staff and my teachers have played a major role in my high school success since I was really struggling with many different things. For example, my inability to pay attention. Quite frankly prior to attending AHCCS, I really just was not into school in general. However, having such supportive people by my side and helped to push me to work harder.  This ongoing guidance has been the best part of being a student at this school.”

Bonnie is looking forward to making her family proud as she walks across the stage to receive her diploma in June.

“It’s really exciting. It is a great reward after all this work. It makes it feel all worth it.”

Congratulations, Bonnie, on your tremendous achievement! AHCCS can not wait to see what you accomplish in the future!
