Recognizing student success highlights their hard work, encourages growth, and strengthens the sense of pride and community within our school. Welcome to our Student Spotlight, where we celebrate the incredible stories, achievements, and ambitions of our talented AHCCS students!
Meet Lyrik, a current 10th grader at Achievement House Cyber Charter School. She joined AHCCS at the beginning of this school year and has been enjoying the flexibility of being a cyber student. Lyric shared:
“What I enjoy most as a cyber school student is that I have more freedom and availability to do things in my personal life. For example, the sports I do, chores in my personal life, and much more.”
Lyrik is one of five siblings, and in her free time, she enjoys cheerleading, playing guitar, reading, writing books, and watching TV or movies.
Staying organized and motivated is essential for success as a cyber school student. Lyrik keeps herself on track by attending live classes and creating a weekly schedule to ensure she’s prepared each day. She admits that at her previous school, she struggled to complete her work, but a heartfelt discussion with her father motivated her to take responsibility and stay on top of her assignments at AHCCS.
Lyrik also recognizes how important it is to excel in school now to achieve future success. Her long-term goals include attending college and pursuing a career in the music industry.
At AHCCS, Lyrik is involved in several clubs, which help her stay engaged and connect with other students who share her interests.
“I am part of Book Club and Cooking Club. Book Club is my ultimate favorite. I’ve always loved reading, and the fact that I can talk about my favorite genres, books, and authors with people I’ve never met before is absolutely phenomenal. Cooking Club is obviously about cooking, but it’s such a great experience to see other people’s holiday traditions or their signature dishes.”
Aside from the social opportunities at AHCCS, Lyrik shared that cyber school has shifted her perspective. During her live classes, she often learns about familiar topics from new angles, which keeps her focused and engaged.
Lyrik expressed her gratitude for being a cyber student at Achievement House.
“I am most grateful for the kindness and helpfulness of other students and teachers, specifically in this program. They have made it a very warm welcome for me, and I will always be grateful for that.”
