At AHCCS, we love celebrating our students’ achievements, passions, and unique journeys. Meet Nevaeh Huffman, a shining example of dedication and success!
Nevaeh is a 10th grader who first enrolled at Achievement House Cyber Charter School in 7th grade. With two older siblings who are AHCCS alumni, attending felt like a rite of passage for her.
This year, Nevaeh embarked on an exciting new educational journey by joining Achievement House’s project-based learning program, Quest. Reflecting on her experience, she shared:
“It is one of the best ways that I have learned in my life, and I mean that with all certainty.”
Beyond Quest, Nevaeh is an active participant in the Gaming Club and Makerspace activities, where she explores 3D printing. She is also taking on academic challenges by enrolling in AP Computer Science and AHCCS’s Your Path to College course to prepare for her future.
One of the key benefits of cyber schooling for Nevaeh is the ability to stay organized and on top of her work. Having all her assignments accessible on her school-issued laptop allows her to easily track progress and communicate with her teachers.
“I have everything on a screen, and I can always just go back and let my grade tell me what’s missing. It is so easy to email a teacher, and since they’re always online and checking their email, they usually get back to you quickly.”
Being a cyber student has also given Nevaeh more time to explore her creative passions, particularly crafting. She enjoys making clay models of different characters, a hobby that started with a simple purchase.
“I bought a hot glue gun from Walmart, and everything just developed from there.”
Her love for crafting has influenced her future aspirations. When asked about her career goals, Nevaeh confidently shared:
“I have a whole plan.”
She hopes to attend the Pennsylvania College of Technology, majoring in Engineering Technology with a minor in automation, puppetry, or robotics. After college, she dreams of working on animatronics for movies, TV shows, and theme parks.
“I would like to work on animatronics in movies, shows, and theme parks. I’m a huge Disney fan, and I love theme parks. I’m also a big Five Nights at Freddy’s fan, which really sparked my interest in animatronics. That passion has driven me to want to build animatronics—it’s my dream.”
Attending AHCCS has helped Nevaeh discover a great deal about herself.
“I am a lot more creative than I give myself credit for.”
The flexibility, diverse course offerings, and extracurricular activities at AHCCS have allowed her to fully embrace her creativity. With the ability to focus on projects like crafting masks and puppet heads, she is turning her passions into future career opportunities.
Nevaeh’s story is a testament to how cyber school can help students explore their interests, build confidence, and shape their future. We can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes and continue showcasing our students’ achievements!
