At Achievement House Cyber Charter School, we proudly recognize our students’ unique stories and accomplishments. Our next Senior Spotlight features Marisa Wise, the Class of 2025 Valedictorian—a student whose time at AHCCS has been marked by leadership, growth, and a passion for learning.
Marisa joined AHCCS after a challenging freshman year at a traditional brick-and-mortar school. Seeking an environment that offered more flexibility and support, she found Achievement House through a simple online search.
She recalls, “I didn’t even make it to the website—I clicked on the enrollment page and just knew it felt right.”
That decision opened the door to a new beginning. At AHCCS, Marisa found her voice, her strengths, and the space to thrive.
Throughout her time at AHCCS, Marisa has taken on numerous leadership roles. She currently serves as Student Body President and is also an active member of the National Honor Society, Student Ambassadors, and Student Voice. She interned twice with the Global Studies department, an experience she calls one of her proudest accomplishments.
“Achievement House gave me so many opportunities I never imagined I’d have,” Marisa said. “I couldn’t have done half of this at my old school.”
Outside of academics, Marisa launched a business focused on helping women entrepreneurs with branding and digital content. Using tools like Canva, she creates custom marketing materials and teaches others how to do the same.
Her entrepreneurial spirit is inspired by her mother, who also runs her own business. Marisa plans to grow her ventures while working a part-time job and continuing to explore new skills.
Looking ahead, Marisa is eager to keep learning. She’s driven by curiosity and a desire to understand the world around her.
She’s also excited about graduation—both the milestone and the experience.
“I’ve always wanted to give a speech at graduation, ever since seeing Anna Kendrick’s character in Twilight do it. And I can’t wait to meet my classmates in person and hold my diploma.”
Marisa’s journey hasn’t been without obstacles. She faced stress, anxiety, and health challenges during her high school years, particularly when balancing a heavy course load. With support from her teachers and her mother, she learned to manage her schedule, advocate for herself, and build space for rest and recovery.
One turning point came when she was invited to join the Student Ambassador program.
“That phone call changed everything for me. It led to new opportunities and helped me build confidence and connections I never thought possible.”
Marisa believes that cyber school works best for students who are independent or willing to learn how to manage their time.
“Achievement House taught me that the box doesn’t exist. Everyone is on a different path, and that’s not just okay—it’s powerful.”
Her message to incoming students is simple: don’t be afraid to try.
“Even if you’re not sure you’ll be good at something, take the leap. You might surprise yourself.”
As she prepares to graduate, Marisa reflects with pride on her journey.
“I wasn’t sure I’d make it to 18. Now I’m proud of what I’ve built and excited for what’s next.”
While she’ll miss the structure of grade-level learning and the support of her AHCCS mentors, Marisa is ready to embrace the future with purpose, creativity, and confidence.
Congratulations, Marisa. Your journey has been inspiring, and we look forward to seeing all that you will accomplish beyond graduation.
